Great way to get outside, see new areas, and have fun searching for hidden treasure at the same time!

I paid $10 for this app some time ago. Havent gone in a while, but thought it might be fun to re-download it. Now nearly everything is blocked by another subscription paywall. Aaaaaaand now the app is deleted off my phone. Ill check back in a few months to see if theyve fixed it perhaps. I get charging $10 for an app to cover development cost, but this is ridiculous. Seemed like a lot to pay, and I suppose it was considering Groundspeak has since said, "That app you paid for? You cant have it anymore. But you can pay a subscription to us now for the same thing! That way we get more of your money, or else we take away what you already paid for." Not cool. Or maybe someone will make a non-Groundspeak database/app we can all start using instead? Just have everyone delete their caches from Groundspeak, and move them to the new one. Thatd be fine with me. I mean its not like youre compensating people who hide great caches. People put time, money, and effort into their cache planting... for fun... for others benefit... for free. Thats the spirit of this sport. At this point actually I think abandoning money-grabbing Groundspeak would be best. Groundspeak has had their monopoly of geocaching long enough. Time for an alternative truer to the free spirit of the sport!

Love it. Dont know about the paid vs. subscription, but money pretty cheap for a fulfilling hobby.

This app is an insult to long time cachers and a despicable money grab by Groundspeak. Ill be destroying my own caches and withdrawing from the game. Too bad. It was fun. Groundspeak ruined it with their greed.

The developers should know better and frankly, I find this kind of behavior shady. Ill never buy anything from this company again.

Unless I paid $30 something per year. Major fail. Why not let the user sample a few geocaches before charging a fee. Looks lousy on my iPad Pro.

I LOVE geocaching. I love what I come across things i never knew were around I came across while out geocaching. Its amazing. It is so much fun. And just a little tricky.

I bought the annual subscription and it has been worth it because we use it a lot. I think people dont understand that it takes money to pay developers to make the app better and better as well as keep servers running and all sorts of other things. Im fine to pay this. And the app is great :)

Too much of the content (types of caches other than traditional, which is a lot of them) are premium only. How much is the premium app? Its unclear from the app how much I have to pay to get a functional app. Better off writing down coordinates from the website and looking for caches the old fashioned way.

There was originally a free app with limited cashes and a $10 app that lets you see all of the cashes. Now the $10 one is just as good as the free one! Now you need to pay more money a month to see all cashes! I will not be geocaching until this is fixed. Its a waste of money! Save yourself $10 and get the free one!

Paid extra for premium and the app still thinks it is in basic. Nothing seems to fix it.

Groundspeak trying to extort money out of what should be a free hobby.

A really cool app and game. I love that wherever you go you can have fun doing little treasure hunts. I just started and have already found some really great stuff. Other than some places being empty, its been super fun!

The new version of the app is a money grab bring back the old version.

Some time back I paid $10 for this app for "the features", and now I am forced to pay more/again for "the features" which effectively is charging for user contributed content. Users that get no compensation for their free will. I will stop using this app until a fair price model is put back into place. I see no benefit to justify the cost of the subscription. This isnt as expensive as an epi-pen but similar principles apply. The same greedy business principles as well.

The update on this app is awful!!! Doesnt show all the logs for the caches and the activity, unstable, does not load quickly, freezes up frequently, not user-friendly, And the list goes on. And please go back to the classic version of this app! This version makes me not want to geocache!

Has been consistently reliable to use. Very convenient. Just not easy to log visiting Travel Bugs, unless Im missing something. I log my visit then have to edit later from the site.

So sad they did this. Virtually all caches of worth are behind a money wall. I dont mind paying for the app. In fact I did! Last time. Now that app is gone and I have to pay a monthly sub? Nope. Not happening.

The app is easy to use and provides a lot of functionality. As far as pricing goes, the model seems to be parity with accessing the information directly from the website through a browser, so I think the people giving the one star reviews are over reacting.
